Canon launches Midlands Design & Manufacturing 2011

Midlands Design & Manufacturing 2011 has been announced by Canon Communications as a new event.

Midlands Design & Manufacturing 2011 has been announced by Canon Communications as a new event focusing on the end-to-end manufacturing cycle – from design and development through to packaging and despatch and everything in between.

Held on 6-7 April 2011 at the Birmingham NEC and co-located with MEDTEC UK, Mtec and the 3C UK shows, Midlands Design & Manufacturing (MDM) will embrace all the technologies, products and services that 21st century manufacturers, subcontractors and specifiers depend on to achieve effective and efficient production regimes and world-class products.

MDM will include the complete spectrum of technology sectors, beginning with design software and development routines and embracing processes like rapid prototyping, production equipment (machine tools and automated processes as well as toolmaking and plastics injection moulding), tooling and workholding as well as quality control procedures and, importantly, the sub-contracting supply sector.

MDM has been launched as a direct result of the growing optimism that was clearly evident at this year's MEDTEC UK and its co-located events, according to James Meire, UK & Ireland sales manager, Canon Communications.

“Our events at the NEC clearly illustrated that industry's thirst for the benefits of advanced technology extends right across the manufacturing spectrum,” he explained. “As a result, Canon is determined to provide a one-stop showcase for the latest and greatest tools and technologies that suppliers have to offer.

“MDM will effectively ‘break the mould' in terms of providing suppliers of every size with a cost-effective, two-day showcase that will address the needs of specifiers and buyers from all manufacturing disciplines.”

Additionally, he says plans are already in place for a series of informative education programmes to complement the MDM exhibits. “Ideal learning platforms that will partner our renowned MEDTEC UK Conference,” he added.
