Composites UK hold first annual awards dinner

Composites UK held its first annual Awards Dinner in Birmingham on the 5th May 2010 as part of its two-day annual conference.

Composites UK, the trade association for the composites industry held its first annual Awards Dinner in Birmingham on the 5th May 2010 as part of its two-day annual conference.

Nominations were entered by companies across the UK and were judged by the Composites UK Board of Directors.
The winners of the awards were:

Trainee/Apprentice of the Year 2009 Winner - Kai Burkitt, BAE Systems
Highly Commended - James Andrew Spencer, Gurit
Health, Safety and Environment Initiative 2009 - Cray Valley
Industry Innovation of the Year 2009 - Bombardier Aerospace

“With continued growth and development within the composites industry it was important that Composites UK support the achievements of individuals and companies in the sector,” said Chris Little, Composites UK chairman.

Winners received a glass trophy, £250 prize money and a framed certificate. Kai Burkitt also received a one year Technician membership to IOM3.
