Novator delivers orbital drilling test unit to Japan

One of Japan's largest suppliers to the aerospace industry has purchased an advanced drilling machine based on Novator's orbital drilling technology.

The machine will initially be used for technical evaluation and trials to improve quality and effectiveness in production.

“This is very important for us,” explained Novator's CEO, Hans-Petter Andersson. “We are involved in several similar projects within the aerospace industry where companies are validating this next generation drilling technology for production implementation. The aerospace industry faces real challenges when introducing advanced materials in the aircraft designs, and orbital drilling has a large potential for decreasing manufacturing costs.”

The Orbital Portable M-Series machine delivered is a new series of advanced portable drilling units developed for increased efficiency when drilling in advanced materials like titanium and CFRP.
