STG launches versatile solution for dynamic lighting

Leading aerospace manufacturer, STG Aerospace, has launched the first product of its Universal Lighting Family.

The Curve joins the STG lighting collection as an LED Flex light that provides seamless lighting whilst remaining adaptable to multiple installations and applications. As the trend for more rounded cabin forms continues, The Curve offers a compact, versatile solution that meets the challenges this presents.

What’s different?

  • Addressability – the only available 4-inch section controllable dynamic light
  • Bend radius – market’s tightest bend radius at 30mm convex & 50mm concave
  • Small footprint – at just 6mm x 15mm it can be installed on a range of monuments & locations within the cabin
  • CMS data traffic reduction – internal storage means just 1 byte of data can launch a light sequence

Whether working on a Business Class seat, an Economy Class cabin, a large galley or a Business Aviation space, designers need light that enhances customer experience. The Curve can be used throughout the aircraft to provide different results, and it can be installed in wet areas too. The product can build layers of ambience in cabins where fixed, linear lights no longer meet the geometric requirement or aesthetic standard.

The light output of The Curve can be split into individually addressable segments. Each segment’s colour, transition and intensity, is controlled independently with the choice of 16 million colours. Customers have the freedom to design a highly bespoke ambience within the cabin – from the Northern Lights effect swirling over a bar front or a pulsing light in a footwell. It provides this vibrant, animated lighting within a slimline, flexible structure that can shape around the bends found in forms of cabin geometry.

The section addressable output, combined with its small form, discrete design language and market’s tightest bend radius, makes it an ideal choice for OEMs and integrators to create unique passenger experiences throughout the cabin.

“The Curve’s potential uses in VVIP cabins are numerous with its physical and functional flexibility, as well as its smaller scale footprint. Love how multiple mood lighting effects are achievable in a single strip through sections – perfect for ambience customisation,” said Natalie Rodriguez – VVIP aircraft interior designer.
