Tods Aerospace set to floor industry costs

Tods Aerospace will be exhibiting at Aircraft Interiors Hamburg with a focus on its developing range of composite structural flooring

To address the issue of reducing aircraft weight and cost, Tods Aerospace will be exhibiting at Aircraft Interiors Hamburg with a focus on its developing range of carbon, glass and aluminium skin composite structural flooring which not only offers weight-saving efficiency, but is said to be lower cost than traditional alternatives.

Tods range of composite flooring panels and engineered seating mounts or plinths are specified across a diverse range of aircraft from the main airframe manufacturers and are in use with no fewer than 14 international carriers. The company also has working partnerships with aircraft interior manufacturers, on both sides of the Atlantic, for cabin furbishing and refurbishment programmes. Lightweight structural flooring is also manufactured for military and civil helicopters.

“Through the fusion of modern composite and aluminium materials Tods have been able to develop, and importantly obtain Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Fire Smoke and Toxicity (FST) approvals for a new range of lightweight yet highly durable floor panels with significant cost-savings, stated Tods Aerospace's business development manager, Colin Faulkner.”
