Tods introduces training scheme for composite engineers

Tods, composite materials, graduate engineers, Peter Eckersall

Tods composite materials engineering group has strengthened its training strategy to exploit the potential of its current engineers and to attract graduate engineers to meet the challenges in the advancement in technologies and materials for composite structures.

Building on an established professional development scheme under the auspices of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) the company has introduced its own graduate training scheme for newly qualified engineers. The accredited IMechE scheme provides a mentored learning environment, which has enabled engineers to reach Chartered Engineer status allowing experienced staff to become Incorporated Engineers. The addition of the graduate training scheme offers a fast track for graduate trainees through the business.

Tods Aerospace's engineering director, Peter Eckersall said: “Finding the right people with the right skills has always been difficult, especially for specialist SMEs. The IMechE and graduate schemes are the backbone of Tods continual professional development strategy. They provide our business with engineering staff with expertise in their field, with the ability and drive to meet the demanding requirements of the aerospace market, and are able to develop and rise to the challenges of our continually changing business.”
